Mac OS X users and mp3 audio previews:
Unfortunately,
the audio previews are not working as smoothly in Mac OS X as in Windows.
This appears to be an Macintosh operating system shortcoming at the moment.
When clicking on a preview button, users may receive either of the following
error messages:
'Additional plugins are required to display all
the media on this page.'
or:
'Cannot open the file. Verify that the path and
filename are correct and try again.'
Alternatively, the audio preview box may open showing the artwork, but
no controls will appear.
You have a choice of three workarounds for this:

Workaround
One (using QuickTime) - *
RECOMMENDED *:
(Please
download QuickTime here)
1. Open System Preferences from the dock.
2. Under Internet & Network, click on QuickTime.
3. With the Plug-In tab (OS 10.2.x) or Advance tab (OS 10.4.x upwards)
chosen, click on 'MIME settinngs...' near the bottom.
4. Click the grey triangle next to 'MP3 - MPEG layer III movies and
streams' and a sub list should open, as shown here:

5. Click to put a tick in the box 'MP3 playlist file' and click OK.
6. Quit System preferences.
7. Now, whenever you click on an audio preview button, click OK from
the error message box (if it appears) to get back to the audio preview
box, then click 'Listen with normal player' at the bottom of the audio
preview box (you may have to enlarge the window to see the bottom
line).
8 . If necessary, browse to select your Quicktime application from
the " Open with..." , check the box 'Do
this automatically for files like this from now on', then click OK
(you will only have to do this step the first time).
9. QuickTime should open so that you can play the audio from there.

box.

4. If iTunes does not appear in the pop down menu, click onto it to choose
it.

this from now on'
Then click OK.
